[Singing voice..] Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you! Hi, my dear readers! I hope you're doing good. I'm so happy and proud to celebrate the first anniversary of my website today. And as Anne Sexton said, The Joy that isn't shared, I've heard, dies young. For that and because all I achieve is also thanks to you, I thought about writing a special note for you guys. To introduce to you my website, the reason I launched it, and how I did it. Thank you for joining me.
What is mouniirah-deme.com?
mouniirah-deme.com is a personal blog I launched on November 2021. The website is divided into 4 parts:
Home: Where you can see all the posts
Books: Where I share with you my current reading and some books I've read during the current year.
Inspirations: A little index of inspirational quotes.
About: A short intro of myself and the blog in its overall.
The posts I write are divided into 7 main categories: #iiaskyou, Books & reading, Polyglot, Health and well-being, Chemistry, Travel & Discovery, Good to know, and Special Edition.
Why a blog?
The idea of creating a blog first came to my mind 5 years ago. At first, I wanted to create content. But which content, I did not know. I have hesitated a lot between a YouTube channel and a blog. I thought also of creating a page on the most popular social media, but I also wanted to have my own space. So, I tried to build a website in 2018 with WordPress, but the attempt was unsuccessful. Besides the fact that I was a novice, one of my concerns was: Who the hell do I think I am, that people will want to read about me and my life? But after reading Show Your Work! By Austin Kleon, I decided to build it anyway, and it was the best decision I could take. Cos' the experience showed me to:
“Never underestimate the impact that you may have on someone else’s life.”
How I built the website?
In my over-zealousness lol, I told myself that for this second try, I will code my website alone. But how? I barely knew how to code, let alone code an entire website! And only God knows how much time it will take to learn, then build the website with a professional design. So I choose to use an online website-building service. I had the choice between Wordpress that I've used previously and Wix. I finally opt for Wix. It was not hard to build the website cos in the beginning; I used an ADI. Along the way, I switched to the Wix Editor, because it offers more possibilities. I've also added new pages and changed the design.
The trigger...
I started building my website in August 2021, but I hesitated a lot about whether I should publish it or not. Then I had an experiment that made me feel so lost. And this was the trigger. I was craving something to distract myself. 2 weeks after, I got the courage to finally press the button [Publish site]. And the journey started. In addition to being one of my passion, writing became a sort of therapy for me.

Since I launched my website, I received a lot of positive messages and constructive reviews. And for that, I want to say, from the deep of my heart: Thank you. Thank you for the time you take to read me, thank you for commenting, thank you for appreciating my work, and thank you for recognizing my efforts. Thank you for your multi-form support. Thank you for cheering me on to keep doing what I do. I'm grateful. May God bless you, and take care.
