Hi and welcome to the fourth (4th) episode of Mouniirah's experiments! Today, we'll try to put an egg into a bottle without breaking or pushing it. Thank you for joining me. I hope you will enjoy!
⚠️ Caution: Since this experiment involves fire, please be careful while doing it.
What you'll need:
A glass bottle,
Hard boiled eggs (the smaller the better),
Strips of paper,
Lighter.
Instructions:
Boil an egg for 15 minutes — to make sure it is completely hard-boiled.
Peel the shell of the egg.
Tear the paper into strips.
Light a couple of strips of paper and place them into the bottle.
Quickly place the hard-boiled egg on top of the neck of the bottle.
The flame inside the bottle creates a partial vacuum that will suck the egg inside!
How it works:
Before the burning paper was put into the bottle, the pressure of the air inside the bottle was the same as outside the bottle. The burning paper, however, heats the air inside the bottle. This causes the air inside to expand. When the egg is placed on top of the bottle, it seals the bottle, and the fire eventually goes out. When the fire goes out, the air inside the bottle cools. As it cools, the air contracts, and the pressure of the air inside the bottle becomes less than the pressure outside. Then, the higher outside pressure pushes the egg into the bottle!

+ Tips: Use a small egg and choose a bottle which isn't too thin. You'll notice that mine was too small for my eggs. That's why they broke apart.
I tried it over 7 times before finding the right method. So if you don't succeed the first time, don't give up! It's a very impressive experiment, feel free to try it too. And don't forget to tell me in the comments whether you succeed or not. Thanks for watching! May God bless you, take care.
